There is a constant barrage of attacks on the character and intellect of Khamenei. The rational behind the attack is that by attacking the man the anti-Government faction attack the office. The governing principle of the Islamic Republic is Velayat-e faqih. They reason that by creating doubt about the man they spread doubt about the system of governance.
