Exhibition - Kish
Kish Carpet Exhibition
The 4th Persian Carpet Specialized Exhibition is
scheduled to be held in Kish from 9 to 12 May 2006, by
Kish Trade Promotion center affiliated to the Kish Free
Zone Organization, in Co-operation with relevant domestic
and international organizations.
The 3rd such Exhibition in 2005, brought together
hundreds of
participants including officials, businessmen, producers,
researchers, and artists associated with this age old
Iranian art-based industry.
They did business ; attended expert gatherings; and
enjoyed the myriad leisure activities the Island offers
for a truly relaxing stay.
The Kish carpet festival aims to provide its guests with
a unique continued effort coupled with our
commitment will hopefully lay the foundation for the
Persian Handmade Carpet Exchange in an Island blessed
with a position which is stable, attractive, and
easily accessible.

Exhibition Objectives
To promote the artistic, cultural, economic and
commercial value of handmade Persian carpet through
staging specialized export-oriented exhibitions along
with a scientific/applied conference which will bring
together researchers, artists, economists and
practitioners of the carpet weaving art. The event will
include the following programmers:
1. Display of a diversified range of top quality
Persian carpets and other handmade floor coverings by
leading exporters and producers chosen by the Organizing
Committee.
2. Attendance by major importers of Persian carpets
from across the world at the invitation of the Organizing
Committee in order to visit the exhibition and to
conclude purchase contracts with a view to promoting the
export of handmade carpets.
3. Sharing the experience and expertise of experts
and scholars through training sessions and workshops
dealing with dyeing, designing, weaving, marketing and
trading of carpets.
4. Hold a scientific/applied conference to discuss
the latest research findings by renowned Iranian and
foreign experts on Persian carpets.
5. Introduce and recognize outstanding experts and
successful exporters of Persian carpets by awarding
prizes and Appreciation Certificate of the Exhibition.
Sideline Programmers
1. The inaugural ceremony will take place at 1800
hours on Tuesday 9 May 2006 at the Exhibition venue, and
will be attended by the cultural and economic
authorities, experts, artists, traders, and guests of
honor.
2. Throughout the exhibition there will be artistic
and musical programmers performed by renowned national
and local musicians.
3. In addition to sightseeing tours, special
recreational and sports activities have been planned for
participants. These include diving, jet-skiing, swimming,
horse-riding, tennis and paragliding.
Special Facilities for Participants
1. Major dealers and importers of Persian carpets
across the world have been invited to attend the
exhibition. Their hotel
accommodation will be covered by the Exhibition
Committee.
2. For the other visitors and guests special
arrangements have been made in the form of discounted
hotel rates and special air ticket price to travel to
Kish Island.
3. The exhibitors have been selected from among
leading Persian carpet exporters, producers and artists
who will display their goods or services in free of
charge pavilions.
4. Tour groups as well as student groups from the
provinces who wish to visit the Exhibition or attend the
conference can benefit from special discounts on their
tickets and accommodation.
Promotion and Publicity
The Exhibition will be widely covered by the media
(print, carpet journals and radio & TV), both at the
national and international levels. In addition to the
distribution of posters and brochures, the Commercial
Attaches of the I. R. of Iran in other countries as well
as foreign embassies in Tehran have been requested to
promote the Exhibition by informing their respective
business communities.

Travel Facilities for Foreign Guests
Foreign nationals do not need a visa to enter Kish
Island. The Exhibition Committee will provide guests and
visitors with the following complementary facilities:
1. Obtain visa for those participants who may wish
to visit the mainland Iran before or after the
Exhibition.
Important Note: Visa application form for foreign
nationals is
available at http://www.kishcarpet.com. Iranians living abroad who hold
Iranian passport are advised to bring it with them.
2. Arrange accommodation at first-class hotels of
high
international standards.
3. Coordinate with Kish Air and Aria Airlines to
facilitate
passenger travel between the UAE (Dubai and Sharjah) and
Kish.
