This is a complete bag with three straps. It is the three straps that causes me to attribute this piece as a mirror bag. The front is twisted silk on what appears to be a silk velvet. I believe it to be Uzbek but I do not think it is Lakai Uzbek.
XXX Kirghiz Bag

Comments on Condition: Slightly worn, but generally good. Small area of repiling on one side.
Full Description: I call this the XXX bagface -nothing to do with pornography-, because of its pattern, that I have found only in a late Baluch Balisht face. This piece is certainly Central Asian and I guess if it is Kirghiz or Uzbek. Its colors are all natural dyes and the wool is soft and shining.
This is a nice piece with exceptional graphics. Please note the two blues and the excellent yellow.

This is an open Uzbek bag. This bag is clearly Southern Uzbek. There is a clear distinction between the Northern Uzbeks and the Southern. There was a separate Khanate in Mazar-i-Shariff. This Khanate went from Firoz-Koh ridge near Herat to the Kunduz area. The southern Uzbek are responsible for most of the Afghan weaving.
Of the Southern Uzbek this one appears to the Uzbek Tarteri of the Sar-i-Pul area. Sar-i-Pul is on the Northern border of the Hazarajat and is an area with both Uzbek and Hazara weavers.
Use – This bag can be used as a small runner or it can be closed up into a cushion.
